Quiet...

Yesterday morning, I got the privilege of eating breakfast with Jenna and Allison one last time before they started their journey back to the States. However, this morning, I had the honor of being awakened by a cop ringing our door buzzer looking for a man named Jo Walsh. Apparently there is a warrant out for his arrest, and our address just so happens to be listed as his last known address! That's not scary at all. Luckily, Matthew was still home (although he was just getting out of the shower, so he greeted the policeman in his towel.) Had I been home alone, I most likely would not have opened the door to a bald-headed, muscly stranger, which probably would have prompted said intimidating man to bust down the door believing that Jo Walsh was concealing himself inside. In that case, I probably would have grabbed the biggest kitchen knife to use in my defense, which would have resulted in me being charged with assaulting a police officer. So, moral of the story, I could totally be in jail right now had Matthew been gone for the day. That would have made for a way more interesting blog post. Anyway, we made it clear that there was no Jo Walsh hiding out in our flat, showed him our identification, and he said he would make sure to remove our address from their information. Creepy! But other than that brief brush with the law, the time since my girlfriends left yesterday has been so quiet. I didn't realize how little I get to sit and chit chat throughout the day until I had them around to constantly be bantering with. I miss them already, but I am so thankful I got to have such a soul-reviving trip with them. Our travels couldn't have gone any smoother. We had ideal experiences in London, Paris, and Cambridge. The weather (almost) fully cooperated, and we all got along perfectly, even when we had been out exploring for 14 hours in one day. It was divine in more ways than one.

Between the three of us girls and our three DSLR cameras, we snapped something like 1,500 pictures during our week together. Needless to say, I have some deleting and editing to do before I am ready to post them. So far I have narrowed them down to around 900 just by getting rid of the duplicates and the blurry ones. I guess I'll go ahead and share a little glimpse of some of my favorites. But trust me, there are many more to come... and these are probably the least flattering. So we will get them out of the way early.
Please look beyond the man with the red coat and shifty eyes in the foreground toward the massive group of military men in uniform just strolling through the Arc de Triomphe. My face pretty much sums it up, "Should we be here right now?" I'm beginning to believe that I'm being followed by the authorities.
On a totally unrelated note, what do you find when you go to Harrod's? That's right - a Dobby the House Elf mask in the Harry Potter section. Along with a pet spa, designer handbags/cosmetics, a Princess Diana shrine, $4,000 fountain pens, and a gift shop. Weirdest place on earth. (Says the girl donning an elf mask and using its extremely long nose to accost her poor friend. Maybe the authorities should be after me.)
Jenna's finest moment was the foam-stache she sported from her pint of lager at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. She earned some serious man points for finishing it all. And the glass may or may not have snuck its way into her purse afterward.
Aww, that's better. Definitely more indicative of our typical poses. I must point out that I felt like the odd woman out for not having blonde, wavy hair. Jealous of that natural va-va-va-voom.
Well, I hope this served as a good teaser, and tomorrow I will try to get a longer post with way more pictures and stories uploaded. Ta ta for now.
