Hiatus...

With La Sagrada Familia behind us, we are up to date! The Grant side made it back to Oklahoma, and after a very late night/long line in customs, Matthew and I made it back to Cambridge. Matthew has since started another term of classes (the Lent term.) And I have officially caught up on laundry and house cleaning just in time to pack my bags one more time! This Saturday I will be receiving the best hugs in the world from my besties Jenna and Allison. Yes, you heard me. Besties. This ultra girly vocabulary is but the beginning of the ultra girly trip that is about to commence.
This is an oldie but a goodie - Jenna and me at our high school graduation baccalaureate ceremony in 2007! We have officially been friends since Mrs. Waldorf's first grade class. She now has long hair and I have short. Boy, how times have changed, but our friendship is still going strong!!!
And this is Allison and me at my personal shower back in 2010. She started out as my discipleship partner during my freshman year of college but has become so much more over the past five years. I'm truly blessed to call her my friend. We share a deep love for paper products, specifically leather bound journals, that most people don't understand.
I wish I could convey how much I am looking forward to meeting them at Heathrow in less than 48 hours. These girls are so special to me. We have gone through so many major life events together. Graduations, weddings, etc. I can't wait to add "European vacation" to our list of shared experiences.  I will admit that I'm a tad bit nervous to be traversing foreign countries without my bodyguard... I mean, my husband... but I am confident enough in my navigation abilities, and I think the three of us can handle it just fine. Plus, who would dare mess with these guns?
I know you're all shakin' in your boots.
So anyway, we will be much too busy catching up on late night girl talk, painting our fingernails, having pillow fights, eating ice cream cones, and shopping to post anything new to the blog until after our trip is over. Ok, maybe we aren't going to be that stereotypically girly. But really, there will be a brief interlude of silence in the Okie EmiGrant blog realm for about the next week and a half. (Unless of course Matthew decides to write his own entries during that time. Hint, hint.) Praying again for safe/smooth travels and memories we will never forget. Au revoir!

  3. I'm so excited for you to have some "girl time" with great friends. As you have seen, miles can separate you but when you have great friends, it is always like no time has past when you get back together. Have the time of your lives and in my typical "mom" fashion...stay together and be careful!

    Love
    Mom
